Crochet For Charity- Crochet Twiddle Muff orFSensory Lapmat Pattern

Crochet for charity projects is one of the ways I can give back to the world, and I can say that I am drawn to charity work; anything I can do to alleviate the suffering of others.

This Twiddle Muff which can also be made into a Fidget Lapmat is my latest addition to crochet items for people experiencieng Alzheimer’s disease. I designed this project as a special contribution to an organization I have had contact with.

You will see that there are similar elements on this Twiddle Muff as in the first fidget blanket pattern I designed, as well as the second fidget lapmat I designed for all free crochet afghan patterns.

This twiddle muff pattern makes for a quick project you can donate. So, if you already made the previous Fidget blanket you will find this easy.

This pattern is relatively quick, with all your materials at the ready you can complete it in 1 day.

Row 1: with colour of choice, join yarn in st., Ch 1,SC in same st, SC in next 6. Ch 1, turn

Rows 2-17: SC across. Ch 1 turn

Row 18: skp 1st st, SC in 5, Sl st in last st. Snip yarn leaving long tail to sew on the 2nd half of the snap fastener. Weave in tails.

Attaching the beaded keyring

Cut a strip of yarn about 20 inches long, pass it through the keyring then insert the beads through the needle onto the yarn. As in the photo, complete attaching the yarn to body of project.

Now you can decide to leave it as a lapmat or sew it closed as a Tweedle muff. Snip off yarns leaving long enough tails to weave in.
